Could humans survive on another planet? This is a question debated by scientists and philosophers alike? Today I will be discussing the likelihood of life on each planet.
There is a possibility for life on mercury because our bodies are not made for the heat in the daytime nor the coldness in the nighttime. However, Mercury has no air, water, oxygen, or carbon. Mercury also lacks the atmosphere that protects humans from radiation.
Venus is much hotter than mercury. Some scientists refer to mercury as a waste land. It has a thick atmosphere because of its irreversible greenhouse effect. Additionally, Venus also has no water and it mainly consists of carbon dioxide. Since this planet is too hot, plants cannot live on it. Therefore no oxygen can be supported in this planet and neither can we.
Mars is 150 degrees centigrade. For humans to live on this planet we must warm it up. Mars has a thin atmosphere but if we induce global warming on it will warm up by thickening the atmosphere. Furthermore, Mars has very little water. It has no water at all, but it is filled with carbon dioxide. So only if Mars was to warm up, could we support plant life, and then support oxygen?
Jupiter consists mostly of gas. The only solid part of it is its core. The core is however very hot. Jupiter has extreme weather patterns. With its unconventional weather and gravity, it would rip apart everything that it came in contact with. Jupiter is extremely hot and not suitable for humans.
Saturn is extremely similar to Jupiter regarding the weather patterns. The only solid part of Saturn is its core. Unlike Jupiter, there is no place to land on Saturn.
Uranus is very cold. Because it is so cold, most of the gases are in liquid form. Uranus has an ocean of hydrogen and other gases. It cannot sustain any life, as it doesn’t have food, water, or oxygen.
Neptune has the fiercest weather patterns. It has the most turbulent winds in our whole solar system. Like most planets, it has no food, water or oxygen.
